We are lucky enough that it is just a 10-minute drive away from the holiday park, making it the perfect place to explore on an afternoon out from Castle Howard Lakeside Holiday Park or a great place to pop for a delicious meal.

Markets
Famous for its Monthly Food Markets and Malton’s Traditional Saturday Market, the markets at Malton have a wonderful variety of items on offer.
Local produce is a big focus with local bakeries, fruit and veg producers, brewers and sweet treats on offer amongst other delights.
The Monthly Malton Food Market is held on the 2nd Saturday of the month and runs from 9am to 3pm.
On other Saturdays, you can enjoy Malton’s Traditional Saturday Market. In addition to local food producers, you will find stalls brimming with art, gifts, home interiors, fashion and lots more.
2 hours of free parking is available in central Malton but spaces are limited. Pay and display car parks are also available nearby when the free car parking is full.
Festivals
Malton’s boutique music festival Meadowfest takes place each summer. In 2022, Meadowfest was set within the gardens and riverside meadows of the regal Talbot Hotel. Some of Yorkshires finest bands played alongside the headline act, The Feeling. Festival goers feasted and danced in this beautiful setting.
The Malton Food Lovers Festival also takes place in summer and lines the streets of Malton with a fabulous assortment of Yorkshires producers. Culinary talks, cooking demos, celebrity chefs and live music all brings the streets of Malton alive.
The Marathon Du Malton is inspired by the unique Marathon Du Medoc in the wine region of France. A gourmet lovers delight, this 10k Wineathlon winds through Yorkshires beautiful countryside. Contestants are able to sample food and drinks around the course, whilst a full programme of music, family entertainment and food & drink will keep supporters cheering.
The shopping event of the year is the Malton Christmas Festival. This magical market is filled with festive stalls. The perfect place to visit for unique Christmas gifts and tasty treats to serve at Christmas. Enjoy family entertainment, street food and live music on this fabulous day out.

Homes and interiors are well catered for in Malton. There is a great selection of shops full of antiques, homewares and furnishings. Interior designers showcase inspirational design ideas and can help you chose the perfect piece to complement your home.
